How the SCRC helps

How we can help

Proactive Measures

According to recent Google research who is on a team matters less than how the team members interact, structure their work, and view their contributions. What does this mean for your team? The best way to deal with conflict is to have intentional conversations about how your team will work together. Not sure how to do that? The SCRC can help facilitate and organize these conversations. At the beginning of each year, your team could:

  • Set expectations for communication, workflow, and conflict management
  • Create or update a vision and mission statement
  • Review and update bylaws
  • Team build to facilitate psychological safety among members (the #1 predictor of team success!)

Facilitation for Decision Making

Up against a tough decision that your group has strong feelings about? Bring in a third party from the SCRC to facilitate the conversation. We can help tear down barriers to agreement and create paths forward that meet the interests of those involved.

Conflict Management

Conflict takes a variety of forms. Have you said, or overheard from a team member, any of the following?

  • We're never going to be able to come to a decision that everyone is happy with!
  • He is totally changing the direction of our organization!
  • I can't get my team to agree to what I know is best for us!
  • Someone on my team isn't doing their job...
  • My duties are impossible to complete without support, and I'm not getting ANY.
  • Our bylaws are unclear on how to move forward.
  • I've had problems with this ALL YEAR! But... it's spring term, so I'll just tough it out.

Does anything sound familiar? These are all concerns that the SCRC can help with. See "How it works" for more information.
